Long Pipe Winding Mold

Long pipe winding mold is a narrow, elongated steel mandrel designed for filament winding of small-diameter FRP pipes and tubes. The mold is shown mounted on a winding machine with a blue drive stand and motor.

Mold Design

The long, slender mandrel is supported at both ends and driven by the motor at one end. Its small diameter produces narrow FRP pipes used for cable protection, process lines, and ventilation. The mold includes end flanges and a release-coated surface.

Production Process

Glass rovings are wound helically and circumferentially onto the rotating mandrel. After cure, the mandrel is extracted or collapsed, leaving a continuous FRP pipe. The pipe is then cut to customer-specified lengths.

Small-diameter FRP pipes are used as cable conduit, protective tubing for electrical wiring, small process lines, fume exhaust ducts, and irrigation tubing. Their corrosion resistance makes them ideal for coastal and chemical plant wiring.
