V-shaped Triangular Pultrusion Die
V-shaped triangular pultrusion die produces FRP angle profiles and triangular structural sections used in corrosion-resistant framing, support systems, and edge protection. The die cavity forms two symmetric V-shaped profiles, doubling output on a single pultrusion line.
Profile Geometry
The die exit shows two V-shaped (angle-iron) cavities side by side. Each cavity forms an L-shaped FRP angle with equal or unequal legs, typically 30 mm × 30 mm to 100 mm × 100 mm, and wall thickness 3 mm to 8 mm. The double-cavity layout doubles production rate and amortizes die cost over twice the output.
Die Construction
Machined from tool steel with precision-ground V-shaped cavities. Heating cartridges maintain the cure temperature along the die length. The inner surfaces are polished to achieve a smooth, glossy profile finish. Pilot holes along the die length allow mounting on the pultrusion machine and alignment of the two cavities.
Applications of V-shaped FRP Angles
Structural framing in chemical plants and wastewater treatment facilities.
Edge protection and corner guards on FRP platforms and walkways.
Support brackets and angle braces for equipment and piping.
Reinforcing ribs in FRP panels and enclosure systems.
Building and construction: non-corroding angles for curtain walls and sunshades.
Material and Performance
FRP angles are pultruded from polyester or vinyl ester resin with E-glass roving and mat. They offer high strength-to-weight ratio, electrical insulation, and resistance to a wide range of chemicals. The non-magnetic property makes them suitable for MRI rooms and substation environments.
Customization
Angle leg dimensions, wall thickness, and resin type are all customizable. Legs can be equal or unequal, and the die can be modified to include ribs, notches, or special corner radii based on the customer's structural design requirements.
Conclusion
The V-shaped triangular pultrusion die is a cost-effective tool for producing high volumes of FRP angle profiles. The double-cavity design maximizes output while maintaining precise profile geometry.
